Mardi Gras Tuesday February 25, 2020 -Party City, Dollar Tree Decor and a Simple Mardi Gras Punch!

I came up with some very EASY ways to celebrate Mardi Gras on a budget- at home, the office, with the family or however you would like!!

SUPER Easy Mardi Gras Punch!!!

This festive drink will cost you LESS THAN $5

Grape Soda
Pineapple Juice
Add Lemon and Lime Slices for Garnish!!!

Serve with CLEAR glasses so everyone can see your festive drink!!!
Cost: $4.71
$3 Soda
$.69 Pineapple Juice
Lemon $.69
Lime $.33

May be cheaper if you find the items on sale! I bought my ingredients for everything at Smart & Final.

#2 Mardi Gras Jello  Treats!
I bought these cups at the Dollar Tree.
Purple Jello
Yellow Jello
Green Jello
Cook one color at a time and put in glasses. Refrigerate. Once one color sets, do the next one!
You cannot do this recipe last minute. Do one color in the morning, one in the afternoon, and another before bed or the next day- that way the colors don’t bleed into each other.

Each Box of Jello was around $1 and the cups were $1 -again, less than $5 for this one too!

Mini King Cakes!!
This was SOOO easy and tasted so good (like so good I make these even when it isn’t Mardi Gras!)

Pillsbury Crescent Rolls $1.99
Cream Cheese 8 oz.$1.99
Powdered Sugar – hopefully on hand
Sugar- I figured this would be something most people have on hand already so I did not add it to the cost.
Green, Yellow, and Purple Sprinkles- did I buy them- NOOOOOO-I MADE THEM- all I did was put sugar in a bowl and use food coloring to get the sugar the color I wanted. DO NOT buy sprinkles if you do not have to- food coloring and sugar is basically FREE!!!!

1. Mix Cream Cheese,  1 Cup Powdered Sugar in a bowl to mix until fluffy.
2. Spread rectangles of crescent rolls and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on them.
3. Spread the cream cheese mixture on each one and roll up.
4. Bake for 8 Minutes at 350 degrees
5. Make Frosting- 2 Cups Powdered Sugar, 1 tsp Vanilla, 1 Tbsp Milk
5. Add Frosting and Sprinkles!

These are good for breakfast OR dessert!!

If you have the sugars and cinnamon already, these should be under $5 as well!!!

I added the Plastic Baby into one of the cakes as the surprise. I found them at Party City in the Baby Shower section!

If you only have time to Mardi Gras shop at ONE place, I totally recommend Party City!!

They have a whole wall of Mardi Gras decor, costume, and party items!

The prices were pretty decent too!

I bought 2 packs of 8ct Beads $1.99 each
Mardi Gras Sign $.59
Mardi Gras Top hat $1.99
Mardi Gras colored coins $5.99 (kind of pricy, but the other coins had clovers on them and I wanted the purple ones!)

They had cups, plates, tablecloths, masks, big signs, little signs, such a great variety to choose from. I got quite a bit for less than $20, and then I spent another $8 at Dollar Tree before I went to Party City.
I bought tablecloths at Dollar Tree, but I actually liked the one at Party City better, but I just stuck with what I had.

Mardi Gras Dollar Tree Item Finds!

Ok, so the Dollar Tree did not have very much for Mardi Gras. Their one small display looked a bot small- but I am sure different locations vary-but for $8 I was able to grab some items that made for some great decor!

Masks $1!
I bought a few different colors,. Some had sparkles and feathers, and some already had the stick on them to hold. The packages are very ugly, but when I opened them for display they were actually very pretty!

I was also able to grab a multi-colored boa. some beads, and some sparkling hats.
You really have to be creative and think outside of the display here!

I also grabbed a Green, Yellow and Purple tablecloth for $1 each to create my own tablecloth design!
