I often have people ask me what meals I put together using couponing items. Yes, you can get a LOT of junk food cheap, but you can make MEALS with items if you plan them right-I did my shopping for the week today, and I am putting together my menu and thought I would show you a couple examples…
Teriyaki Chicken, Broccoli, and Baked Potatoes
Sprouts Chicken Tenders $1.99lb
Weber Teriyaki Marinades $.29 @Raley’s
Dole Pineapple (in my pantry) used the $.75 off 2 bought awhile back at Walmart
Seafood, Homeade Fries, and Steamfresh Veggies
Snapper Fillets-50% off in the clearance section at Safeway
Weber Lemon Herb Marinade
Lemons-used $.33 Just For U place at Safeway
Sides-Steamfresh Veggies-there is a $5 off $15 Safeway Frozen Food Coupon in their ad
Potatoes-the 5lb bag was $1.50 at Sprouts. I will do baked potatoes, and then also dice some up and add some free seasoning from my pantry to them and bake them as a side. I also make extras when I do this and scramble them into eggs in the morning for breakfast. My eggs go further with a big family when I add potatoes to them! We cant have cereal everyday!
When I bring the meat home that I buy (at stock up prices only!) I add the free and really cheap marinades and seasoning packets to them right away ~even if I am going to freeze them. Then they are ready to pull out anytime. I often have so many things going on that if I do not plan ahead dinner can be really lame! Everything in this picture was $11 (except the bags). If you don’t have any marinades or rubs, buy your chicken (or any other sale meat) at Safeway and Raley’s, and they will add them to your meat for you. Just label your Freezer Bag before you throw it in your freezer so you remember what it is later!
