Use Your Coupons to Give Back!

Here is an example of how to use your coupons to give to other people. Integra Telecom (a Sacramento Telecom company that I just happen to know someone who works there :-)) has a Community Matters program where they select different causes to donate items to help others in need. What I love about this program is that it is local. Last year we were able to donate lots of beauty products to a girls home, and during the holidays we were able to give LOTS of food items to help the Sacramento Food Bank.

Right now they are taking donations of baby items-diapers, wipes, formulas, and clothing !!! This is great timing for the FREE Similac Formula you can get at Raley’s this week!!! I know that for the Sacramento Food Bank I bought a lot of formula because it is something that is always on the most needed list. The kind of formula most needed is the specialty kinds-for fussiness, gas, and soy. I used my coupons and bought 4 regualar and 4 soy formulas.

First of all-THANK YOU to my husband who went through the line THREE times for me!! I did four transactions at Raley’s today. I got 8 bottles of Similac, 4 bags of tortilla chips, 4 6packs of soda, 4 Raleys single desserts and 30 Powerade, milk, wipes, protein bars, and the CRV for everything-$120 of groceries for $18!!

I haven’t found a good deal on wipes lately, so I was glad when I went to Raley’s today and found this!

When I was volunteering at church, a friend of mine kept telling me about using coupons and how you can save all this money buying stuff at the store. I thought “I can’t really save that much using coupons, besides with me, my husband, and 7 kids I just need to be used to spending a lot because we use a lot.”

Well, I homeschool my children, and since my wonderful husband gave me my own laptop for Mother’s Day, and I had a child struggling in math, in between math problems, I started looking into this whole coupon thing.

When I saw what other people were getting with coupons, and the crazy prices they were getting it for, I was convinced. I started printing out coupons while my kids did school, and having them cut them out when they were done!
